So, What is a perfect morning routine? Well, I think if it works for you and helps to kickstart your day, then that is the perfect morning routine. A morning routine can be simple but it undoubtedly sets your tone for the day, making you overall more productive and happier. And yes, having a morning routine and sticking to it can be quite challenging, but it is definitely worth it.

There is an old proverb ‘Morning shows your day’ and it couldn’t be more true. Incorporating healthy habits in your morning routine will make you more organized, and help declutter your mind so that you can make the right choices throughout your day.

Here is my morning routine that helps me start my day with positivity.

MORNING ROUTINE

1 WAKE UP ON TIME

To start, I am not a morning person at all. And, I think the most difficult part of the routine is to get out of your bed and get going. But, I have realized waking earlier does help to get many things done which ultimately makes you happier rather than sleeping. This does not mean that you have to wake up super early. If you can wake up at 5 AM, then that’s great but for others like me, you can try waking up before 7 AM and still be productive.

2 MAKE YOUR BED

This is a really small task but it is one of the good habits that must be incorporated in our routine. Making your bed will make your room feel a lot cleaner and organized which can make you feel better and positive to start your day. On the other hand, it just takes a few minutes and you will be done with it.

3 WORKOUT AND MEDITATE

We all know that exercising every day is extremely important for our overall health. Any kind of physical activity, be it dancing, working out, running, walking, etc. is beneficial for us and gives us that energy we need throughout the day. You just need to find something that you can do consistently every day even if it is for just 10 minutes to start with.

Some people may workout at some other time of the day, but for me, if I don’t do it in the morning, I end up not doing it at all. So the morning is the best time to workout for me.

And I also try meditating in the morning for 10 minutes at least. I find it extremely relaxing to calm my body, mind, and soul.

4 DRINK WATER

Drinking water first thing in the morning in an empty stomach has many potential benefits including improved digestion and metabolism, improved skin health, and what not.

So I make sure to drink lukewarm water every morning before I eat anything else. If you don’t like drinking plain water, you can add some lemon or honey which is also a healthy option.

5 HEALTHY BREAKFAST

It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast makes you feel energized and nourishes your body with all the nutrients. Studies have shown that people who don’t have breakfast may be at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

Oatmeals, peanut butter or avocado toast, healthy smoothies, salads, eggs, wholegrain cereals, natural yogurt with fresh fruits are some good healthy breakfast options.

6 READ OR LEARN SOMETHING

I think morning is the best time to learn as our minds are active and fresh which helps us retain more information.

There are tons of books ranging from fiction, nonfiction, or any self-help or motivational books that you can choose and start your day with a positive mindset. Even if it is for 10-15 minutes, reading helps in reducing stress and improves concentration.

You can also utilize this time by studying your course books, learning any musical instrument that you want, listening to audiobooks or podcasts, learning a new language, or anything that helps your personal development.
